Travel & Stay
Getting here and where to stay
Flights
The best way to reach Ordos is flying to Ordos Ejin Horo Airport (DSN), with regular flights from major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an. Please book your flights to DSN and send your dates and flight details to Rumen.
Accommodation
All events take place at the Crowne Plaza Ordos, where everyone stays. Just send us your dates and we will reserve your room — no need to book it yourself.
Transport
With your flight (or train) details, we will arrange your pick-up and drop-off for when you arrive and when you leave, so you won't have to worry about getting to the hotel.
China Tips
A little prep before you fly makes everything smooth
Payments
China is effectively cashless and foreign credit cards rarely work. Set up Alipay and WeChat before you arrive, link a card, and verify with your passport — it can take a few days, so start early.
Connectivity
Google, WhatsApp, Instagram and more are blocked. A travel eSIM (or roaming) usually skips the firewall so everything just works; otherwise install a VPN before you enter China.
Getting Around
Didi is China's Uber — it has an English interface and pays through Alipay or WeChat.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our special day
Can I bring my kids/newborn baby?
Absolutely! We would be delighted to have your children celebrate with us. This is a family-friendly event and we welcome guests of all ages.
Do I need a visa for China?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens of Bulgaria and many European countries currently enjoy visa-free entry for up to 30 days. However, citizens of the USA generally DO need a visa. We strongly recommend checking with your local embassy for the latest requirements.
Any recommended trips?
China offers incredible history, nature, and culture. There are many cities worth exploring depending on your interests. Rumen particularly enjoyed Hangzhou, located near Jie's family home. It is a city that harmoniously combines breathtaking nature—featuring one of the prettiest lakes for running—with the status of a super-modern tech hub. Please note that visiting in the summer requires preparation for the humid Chinese summer.
Is there a dress code?
There is no strict dress code. The wedding ceremony is the most formal — most guests wear suits and nice dresses. The Friday welcome dinner is more relaxed, and the after party is outdoors, so bring a layer for the evening. Any colors are welcome — though if you are a woman, it is best to avoid white. Western formal wear or traditional Chinese attire are both perfect.
Wow, how did you build this website?
This website is Rumen's vibe coding project. Antigravity is the current tool of choice for its development.
